At Queensland Country Bank, we stand with our local communities, especially in times of hardship. We are closely monitoring the North Queensland flooding, with many regions remain significantly impacted or under threat from floodwaters.

Financial Relief Support Package | North Queensland Floods 

As part of our commitment to supporting affected Members, a support package offering varying types of financial relief is available to help ease the pressure, and includes: 

  • Deferment of repayments on loans for up to three months; 
  • Placing the loan on an interest-only basis for a period of time; 
  • Restructuring your loan to reduce your scheduled repayments; 
  • No establishment fee on new personal loan applications lodged before 30 April 2025; 
  • No break costs for Members with a fixed rate loan who use an insurance payment to pay out their loan; and 

  • Waiver of the usual interest rate reduction for early withdrawals from term deposits prior to maturity.

CGU Insurance Update

Our insurance partner CGU is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety and support of our community. 

Here's how CGU is supporting our Members:

  • The Insurance Council of Australia has set up an Insurance Hub in Townsville, with CGU's Claims and Major Event Specialists on-site to assist. The Insurance Hub is located at Townsville Sports Stadium, 40-48 Murray Lyons Cres, Annandale. Operating Hours – 9am to 4pm daily. 
  • Our claims teams are now available at the Cardwell Community Hall to assist customers lodge their claims in person and provide additional support such as temporary accommodation and emergency financial assistance.

    Cardwell Community Hall:

    Brasenose Street, Cardwell. Operating Hours – 9am to 4pm daily  

  • CGU are supporting impacted customers with lodging their claims in person and with any help they need, such as temporary accommodation and financial assistance.

  • Assessing teams and partner builders are also on the ground supporting impacted customers and will continue moving into flood affected areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
