White Ribbon Day marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, inspiring workplaces and communities to take meaningful action. This mission aligns directly with the vital work of DVConnect, one of our Workplace Giving charities for 2025-26. We are proud to partner with an organisation dedicated to creating pathways to safety for Queenslanders experiencing domestic, family, and sexual violence.
By supporting DVConnect, our team can contribute directly to a cause that provides a lifeline to those in crisis and helps build a future free from violence.
Who is DVConnect?
DVConnect is Queensland’s only statewide, 24/7 crisis response service for domestic, family, and sexual violence. They provide free, confidential, and immediate support to anyone in need, offering help through several helplines:
- Womensline (1800 811 811): Available 24/7, this service offers crisis counselling, safety planning, and can arrange emergency transport and safe accommodation for women and children escaping violence.
- Mensline (1800 600 636): Operating daily from 9am to midnight, this helpline provides counselling and support for men who are experiencing violence or are using violence and want to seek support.
- Sexual Assault Helpline (1800 010 120): This line offers specialist counselling, information, and referrals for survivors of sexual violence.
Beyond these essential helplines, DVConnect provides practical, life-saving assistance. They arrange emergency short-term accommodation to provide immediate safety. Through their innovative Pets in Crisis program, they also find temporary, safe housing for beloved pets, removing a significant barrier that often prevents people from leaving a violent home.
How Workplace Giving Creates an Impact
Through our Workplace Giving program, our team can support DVConnect’s critical work through regular payroll donations. This process allows small, consistent contributions to come together and make a significant collective impact.
Supporting DVConnect through Workplace Giving means:
- Immediate Impact: Contributions go straight to funding frontline crisis services that helps save lives.
- Collective Strength: When many of us give together, we create a reliable and sustainable source of funding. This allows DVConnect to not only manage current crises but also plan for the future.
- Alignment with Our Values: By backing DVConnect, we as an organisation actively demonstrate our commitment to safety, wellbeing, and community care.
Domestic and family violence remains a critical issue across Australia, affecting people from all walks of life. By providing immediate crisis intervention and pathways to long-term recovery, DVConnect helps break cycles of harm and creates opportunities for healing and independence.
Choosing DVConnect as a Workplace Giving charity reinforces our commitment to social responsibility. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure that DVConnect can continue to answer the call, day or night.
