Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Landlords insurance cost?

Landlord insurance premiums are calculated based on a range of factors, from the property's location and building materials to other characteristics that help assess risk. For more information, please read the Premium, Excess and Discounts Guide (PED).

Is loss of rent covered?

Loss of rent is an additional benefit of your policy. CGU will cover up to 52 weeks of loss of rent if your rental property is unliveable while it is being repaired or rebuilt after a covered event.1

CGU covers either the weekly rent listed on your Certificate of Insurance, or the weekly rent in your rental agreement, whichever is less. A valid rental agreement is required.

Excesses and exclusion period may apply - refer to your Certificate of Insurance. For detailed terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions, please read the PDS.

Is the building covered with Landlords insurance?

As long as you take out Buildings & Contents or Buildings cover for your Landlords insurance then, yes, it's covered. This means that if a storm, fire, bungled burglary or other insured event causes damage to your property, CGU will cover it. To see exactly what types of buildings we cover and what the building is covered for, please read the PDS.
