Queensland Country Bank is proud to have been selected to join the Australian Government’s Help to Buy Scheme lender panel, helping eligible Members take a step closer to owning their own home.
From Tuesday 6 October 2026, prospective home buyers will be able to access the Scheme through Queensland Country Bank’s retail and broker channels.
Help to Buy is designed to make home ownership more accessible by reducing some of the upfront costs of buying a home. Through a shared equity model, the Government may contribute up to 40% of the purchase price for a newly built home, or up to 30% for an existing home. This means eligible buyers may be able to purchase with a lower deposit and without paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).
For Queensland Country Bank, being selected as a participating lender is another way we can support Members through one of life’s biggest milestones.
Queensland Country Bank Chief Executive Officer Aaron Newman said housing affordability continues to be a real challenge for many people, and initiatives like Help to Buy can help reduce the upfront deposit barrier while keeping long-term affordability and financial wellbeing front of mind.
“Helping people own their homes is core to who we are as a member-owned bank,” Mr Newman said.
“We stand ready to support our Members, in every way we can. Being selected as a lender to help deliver Help to Buy, we will be able to help more Queenslanders realise their home ownership goals sooner”.
As a member-owned bank, we remain focused on delivering practical solutions that balance accessibility with responsible lending, helping more Queenslanders confidently enter - and stay in - the housing market.
