Important updates for foreign cheque deposits

Due to changing customer demand, the migration to digital payment methods, and fewer in-person foreign cheque requests, Queensland Country Bank is making changes to the services we provide as follows:

New accounts - from 2 June 2023

  • Foreign cheque deposits will not be accepted for any Memberships opened after Friday, 2 June 2023.

Existing accounts – from 14 June 2023

  • Foreign cheque deposits with a conversion rate above AUD $10,000 will not be accepted.
  • If the cheque can be accepted and processed, a 90-day hold is applicable before the funds will be available.

If you have an ongoing need for transferring or receiving funds from overseas, you can send and receive payments through an electronic international money transfer (telegraphic transfer) directly into your account.
